8Job authentication cookies keep you signed in, protect account actions, prevent abuse and preserve short-lived sign-in state. The service cannot provide signed-in features without them. An 8Job sign-in session can remain valid for up to 30 days, with shorter-lived security data refreshed during use.

Browser storage

The website may keep the following information in browser storage:

• a rounded location and town or city you choose for nearby search, so distance filtering loads quickly when you return (kept for no more than 24 hours); and
• a random page-session identifier used to avoid counting the same promoted advert impression repeatedly.

The page-session identifier is normally cleared when the browser tab or session ends. The short-lived search location can be replaced or cleared through the search controls or your browser settings. Neither is used to follow you across unrelated websites.

Marketplace statistics

The eightjob.telemetry cookie contains a random signed identifier and lasts up to 90 days. It helps avoid counting repeat visits. Post owners see counts, device types, discovery sources and profile towns, not a list of visitors. Post analytics respect your browser's Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal. The identifier is not used across unrelated websites. Administrators also see recognised page names and last-seen times, and daily unique-browser totals. These page observations exclude message and form contents, query strings and private conversation or order identifiers, and respect Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control. A town detected through permitted device-location use may be held in tab storage for up to 15 minutes for this report, alongside broad browser and device categories. No precise coordinates or addresses are sent to visitor analytics, and a manually selected search town is not treated as your physical location. Weekly reports also use this identifier to measure onward browsing and successful account creation, respecting the same browser privacy signals.

Advertising and third-party analytics

With your optional permission, Google Ads measures whether an advert leads to a new 8Job account. Google tags do not load until you allow this. Choosing No thanks does not affect your use of 8Job. We do not enable personalised advertising or enhanced conversions, or send your name, email address, phone number or account details to Google.

Google may receive advertising-click identifiers, browser/device and network information and a random signup-event identifier. Its _gcl_ cookies may last up to 90 days. Our eightjob.ad-choice cookie remembers your choice for 180 days. After a consented signup, a signed, private receipt expires within 10 minutes. Within that time we may make up to three measurement attempts using the same random transaction identifier to avoid duplicate reporting. A browser attempt record is removed on a visit after 90 days or on withdrawal. An attempt does not confirm receipt by Google. No signup before permission is reported later.

Use Cookie choices to change your decision at any time. Withdrawing permission stops Google measurement and removes accessible advertising cookies and signup markers from this browser; it does not undo earlier reporting or remove cookies stored on Google's own domains.
